"While on pilgrimage from Oesch-Onarga to Dovenshire, a village of some renown located north of the nation of Jahhne, I came upon a pair of Fpathen warriors; rangers, more like it. They were both similar in appearance and dress, although the female, distinguishable by her ample bosom, possessed a hint of Alasion about her (perhaps the tint of brown in her long, braided hair, or the softer taper she had about her ears when comparing those of her male companion. These are but speculations, for I did not have a chance to ask of their heritage). Our meeting was brief, and then they were gone. This happened less than one-half of a day's ride into Jahhne, just north of the southern border leading into the Kingdom of Langington. Even though I never saw the pair again during my journey to Dovenshire, nor during my return to Oesch-Onarga, I knew that they were with me, all along the way."

Arch-Mage of the Third Tier of Oesch-Onarga, the University of Scholars -

Also known as wood or forest elves, the Fpathen of Western Glashia are an interesting people with a diverse and mysterious culture. They are very pale of complexion and tend to be rather slim, looking almost fragile. But this weak appearance is made up by the Fpathen's incredible agility. Their hair ranges in color from silvery-blue to light brown and their eyes from whitish-crystal and light blue to numerous shades of green and hazel. They tend to be rather colorful in their dress, but not overly so, as this would hamper their ability to move about the forests almost completely unseen. They can often be found in pastels of green and blue, and sometimes wear cloaks of green or greenish-gray. This allows them quick camouflage in the dense Western Glashian forests.

The Fpathen are considered to be cautious fighters and are usually found doing so on foot, as opposed to being on horseback. As aforementioned, because of their natural habitat, the Fpathen have the ability to move nearly invisibly and silently through a wooded or forested area, blending in with the vegetation for cover, and surprising their target. And because of their agility and expertise with a long bow, the Fpathen are able to get off a single shot while on the run.

The Fpathen value their individual freedom highly, as well as their families and strong relationships with friends. Because they remain in the physical world for 800+ years, they don't place as high a value on what they call "short-term gains," nor do they tend to rush to finish projects. They prefer to surround themselves with things that are everlasting, such as music and nature. The Fpathen also have a great love for magic; both the art of spell weaving and objects that hold a magical power within them. It is said that a Fpathen can be bought much easier with a near worthless piece of magic--a ring or petty scroll--than a sack full of gold crons.

They have great respect and admiration for the Mnoethen, believing them to be an "uncle" of sorts. It is not all too uncommon to find a small community of Fpathen being lead by a single Mnoethen, or a coupled Lord and Lady Mnoethen. Their feelings toward the Tsuthen, however, are quite the opposite. The Fpathen hate their dark cousins more than the orcs and goblinkind they have been battling with for thousands of years.

The Fpathen think the Dervatear too law abiding and tightly wound, but recognize their craftsmanship as something to be respected. They think more highly of humans, though they believe that most human quests are for wealth and power; this they find rather sad. The Fpathen, like most all other races of Western Glashia, get along very well with the Havanathe, finding their good humor and wit delightful. They are usually never found in the great Dervatear cities, although it is not uncommon to find a small community of Fpathen living within the larger human cities --Gideon of the Kingdom of Langington being but one example. Here they produce fine clothes and small items of magic, as well as music and musical instruments. Most Fpathen are very religious and can often be found worshipping numerous gods of the Greater and Lesser Heavens.

Also known as hills elves or "the elves with the wild blood," the Pseithen are much like their Fpathen cousins, save that they prefer to live within the foothills of the great mountain ranges of Western Glashia. The Pseithen are of a darker complexion than the Fpathen, with hair yellow-blonde to coppery-red and eyes light brown, hazel, or green. They tend to wear clothes of dark browns and greens, tans and russets, in order to blend in to their natural surroundings. Like their Fpathen cousins, the Pseithen have the natural ability to move nearly silently and invisibly through their natural surroundings. But unlike the more cautious and "calm" Fpathen, the Pseithen are more inclined toward "neutral" actions, and would not hesitate attacking a group that ventured too close to their camps, in order to keep their location a secret. Finally, like their Fpathen cousins, the Pseithen like upon the physical would for 800+ years.

Their feelings toward the Dervatear and humans tend to be slightly more aggressive than the Fpathen's, although the Pseithen would not wage war against either race without great cause. They respect the Mnoethen as being their superiors, and hate and fear the Tsuthen, as do most others in Western Glashia. As with most all other races, the Pseithen get along with the Havanathe rather well, although not as well as the Fpathen. They keep their communications between the Dervatear to a minimum, and deal with humans only when trading their fine clothes and bows. Although they have a love for music and poetry like the Fpathen, the Pseithen do not place as much value on these things. The Pseithen do, however, hold the same feelings toward religion as the Fpathen, worshipping numerous gods of the Greater and Lesser Heavens.
